Show HN: PeerAds – A startup-first ad network for affordable advertising

Sun, 04/27/2025 - 8:26am

Hi HN,

I recently put together the landing page for PeerAds, a project aiming to help early-stage startups both advertise and earn in a way that feels fairer and more focused than traditional ad networks.

The core idea:

Startups can promote their products across a curated network of other startup websites, rather than spending heavily on Facebook/Google ads where attention is fragmented and costs are high.

Startup websites (especially SaaS, tools, indie projects) can monetize by displaying clean, relevant ads that fit better with their audience and brand than generic ad networks.

Why I'm building this: While working with small projects and founders, I kept seeing two problems:

Early-stage startups often can't afford the CPCs on big ad platforms.

Startup websites and blogs often have great audiences but few good monetization options outside of affiliate links.

I believe there's an opportunity for a lightweight, curated ad network focused purely on startups helping startups.

The early landing page is live here: https://peerads.vercel.app

I'm still validating the idea and would love to hear:

Does this concept make sense?

Would you consider using it (as advertiser or publisher)?

Any major pitfalls you see that I should be thinking about?

Would love your thoughts — critical or otherwise! Thanks for reading.

Show HN: A Common Lisp implementation in development, supports ASDF

Sun, 04/27/2025 - 8:24am

Implementation of the standard is still not complete, but breakpoints and stepping work quite well! It also has some support for watchpoints, that no implementation has.

Now it ships with ASDF and is capable of loading systems!

Let me know if you like it. Support on Patreon or Liberapay is much appreciated

How can I jump in to the RoboticsxAI domain as an CS student?

Sun, 04/27/2025 - 7:41am

Quick background: I have a Math/CS degree and about 2 years of experience in CV/Speech/Diffusion models (mostly on the engineering side). I'm looking to pivot more into robotics now and I'm super curious about building a learning roadmap. I'd love to dive deeper into the software/AI side, especially things like Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models. Does anyone have advice or suggestions on a good roadmap for someone with my background who's relatively new to the robotics domain itself? Thanks in advance for any pointers!

Show HN: I made Cursor's CMD+K for any website

Sun, 04/27/2025 - 7:33am

Was getting annoyed copy-pasting stuff from websites into ChatGPT all the time, basically wished Cursor's CMD+K worked everywhere.

So I built a little Chrome extension, InPageAI, that tries to do just that: https://inpageai.com

Hit a shortcut on any page, it grabs the context automatically, and you can ask AI to summarize, explain, etc. You can also use it to write directly into input fields/text boxes.

It's pretty early days, but give it a try? Would love to hear what you think, or if you find places it breaks!
