My 4-year-old asked me last week for "a story about a dragon who works at a sushi restaurant and is scared of the fish." There is no book for this. There will never be a book for this.

So my friend Frank and I (both with kids around 3–4) built Sparky. You tap a "spark" — dragon, unicorn, pirate, wizard, mermaid, etc. — or hold a button and tell it whatever weird thing your kid wants, and it generates a story and reads it out loud.

One thing funny: drop the kid's name into the story. They pop up like a meerkat — "wait, that's ME?" — and they're locked in for the next five minutes.

Context on why we bothered: Yoto and Toniebox are great but they're $100–200 hardware boxes with curated content. We wanted something that runs in a browser, costs nothing to try, and can make a story about a sushi dragon at 8:47pm on a Tuesday.

Fair warning: we were too cheap to register a real domain, so it lives on one of mine where I've parked various other half-baked experiments. If this turns into something we'll move it. Would love feedback, especially from anyone whose kids have ground them down with weirdly specific story requests.
