I’ve always been frustrated with how hard it is to download videos from the internet. Most of the sites that claim to do it are bloated with ads, auto-playing videos, fake download buttons, or just straight-up shady behavior. All I wanted was something minimal that actually worked — no noise, no popups, no tricks.

So, I built https://downr.org

It's a tiny project that just does one thing: lets you paste a link and download the video. That’s it. No registration, no browser extensions, no messing around with file converters. I didn’t build it to go viral or make money — I built it because I needed it, and I figured someone else probably does too.

I know it isn’t perfect — just so you know, UI improvements and bug fixes are actively in progress.

The genesis of this product came from my recent experience using AI for projects. While I could clearly articulate functional requirements, I struggled with describing UI needs - vague prompts like "make it look nicer" or "add more design flair" produced mediocre results.

Everything changed after consulting a senior UX designer from a major tech company. He revealed that contemporary design styles actually follow established patterns: "With the right keywords, AI can generate significantly better UIs." Through his guidance, I discovered that adding specific style descriptors like "Microsoft Fluent Design" or "minimalist style" dramatically improved output quality.

This insight inspired UI Prompt Explorer: A curated gallery showcasing well-crafted AI-generated UIs alongside their exact prompts. When users find styles they like, one click copies the optimized prompt for immediate use in tools like Claude/Cursor/Lovable/Bolt, enabling consistent generation of production-ready web interfaces.
